Community Guidelines

Rishtio is built on respect, authenticity, and genuine connection. These guidelines ensure a safe and welcoming environment for everyone seeking a life partner. All users are expected to treat others with dignity and respect, regardless of differences in background, culture, or preferences.

Your profile should be a genuine and accurate representation of yourself: • Use your real name (or the name you commonly go by). • Provide accurate information about your age, location, education, profession, and other profile details. • Keep your profile current — update information when circumstances change. • Do not create profiles impersonating another person. • If you are creating a profile on behalf of a family member, ensure you have their explicit consent and that the information is accurate. Identity document verification is required, but its badge reflects only the configured document check. Face, background, character, intent, compatibility, and safety checks are not offered. Use your own judgment and report suspected impersonation or inaccurate profile information.

Photos are a key part of your profile. Please follow these guidelines: • Upload recent photos that clearly show your face. • Use photos where you are the primary subject. • Do not upload photos of celebrities, models, or other people. • Do not upload photos that are sexually explicit, violent, or offensive. • Do not upload photos that sexualize a minor or contain real, edited, or generated sexual imagery involving a minor. • Do not upload photos that include children unless they are your own and you have appropriate consent. • Do not upload copyrighted images (professional photography without permission). • Group photos are acceptable but should not be your primary photo. Photo verification is disabled in the current U.S. production launch. If it is introduced later, use only the in-app live capture and the current primary profile photo selected by the backend.

When communicating with other users: • Be respectful and courteous in all messages. • Accept that not everyone will be interested — handle rejection gracefully. • Do not send unsolicited explicit or inappropriate messages. • Do not pressure others for personal information (phone numbers, addresses) before they are comfortable sharing. • Do not use aggressive, abusive, or threatening language. • Respect boundaries — if someone asks you to stop messaging them, comply immediately. • Keep conversations focused on genuine getting-to-know-you interactions.

The following activities are strictly prohibited on Rishtio: • Harassment, bullying, stalking, or intimidation of any kind. • Hate speech or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, caste, gender, disability, or sexual orientation. • Soliciting money, gifts, or financial favors from other users. • Promoting commercial products, services, or businesses. • Sharing other users' private information without their consent. • Using the platform for purposes other than genuine matrimonial search. • Catfishing (creating fake identities to deceive others). • Attempting to exploit or manipulate vulnerable users. • Any activity that violates applicable laws.

If you encounter behavior that violates these guidelines: • Use the in-app reporting feature to flag the user or content. • Provide as much detail as possible to help us investigate. • You may also contact us directly at safety@rishtio.com. All reports are reviewed by our trust and safety team. We take reports seriously and investigate promptly.

Violations of these guidelines may result in: • Warning: A notification about the violation with guidance on expected behavior. • Temporary Suspension: Your account may be suspended for a period, during which you cannot access the platform. • Permanent Ban: Severe or repeated violations may result in permanent removal from Rishtio. • Legal Action: In cases involving illegal activity, we may report the matter to law enforcement authorities. The severity of the action depends on the nature and frequency of the violation. We reserve the right to take action at our discretion.

Identity-document verification is required in the current U.S. production launch. Its badge describes only the configured government-document check completed at that time. Photo liveness and Face verification remain disabled. Verification does not endorse a person or guarantee character, intent, compatibility, safety, or the accuracy of unrelated profile details.

While we work to maintain a safe platform, please exercise personal safety: • Do not share financial information, passwords, or sensitive documents with other users. • Meet in public places for initial meetings. • Inform a trusted friend or family member about your plans when meeting someone. • Trust your instincts — if something feels wrong, report it and disengage. • Be cautious of users who refuse video calls or in-person meetings. • Never send money to someone you have not met in person.
