RISHTIO DOES NOT CONDUCT CRIMINAL BACKGROUND SCREENINGS OR CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECKS ON MEMBERS. PHOTO, IDENTITY, LIVENESS, AND SOCIAL-SIGN-IN CHECKS ARE NOT CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECKS AND DO NOT ESTABLISH CHARACTER OR SAFETY.

1. Before You Connect

Keep early conversations in Rishtio. Do not share passwords, government documents, financial account details, one-time codes, or your home address. Move at your own pace, verify claims independently, and stop engaging if someone pressures you, asks for secrecy, or tries to isolate you from trusted people.

2. Meeting Safely

For a first meeting, choose a public place, arrange your own transportation, tell a trusted person where you will be, and keep your phone available. Do not leave food or drinks unattended. Leave at any time if you feel uncomfortable. If anyone is in immediate danger, call 911 or local police; reporting to Rishtio does not contact emergency services.

3. Fraud and Financial Safety

Never send money, cryptocurrency, gift cards, bank access, or financial documents to someone you met through Rishtio. Be cautious about investment opportunities, emergencies, travel costs, customs fees, inheritance claims, and requests to receive or move money. If you shared financial information, contact your bank and change affected credentials promptly.

4. Report, Block, and Preserve Your Control

Use “Report profile or user” for suspected fraud, harassment, stalking, violence, sexual assault, child-safety concerns, or other policy violations. Blocking stops the relationship in the product. Staff may restrict content or access while reviewing a report. Reports do not accept attachments, and child-safety material must never be copied or forwarded.

5. New York, New Jersey, Texas, and Utah Notices

New York: review these safety tips before meeting and tell a trusted person about your plans. New Jersey: Rishtio does not conduct criminal background screenings or criminal background checks; use independent judgment and public records where appropriate. Texas: report suspicious or abusive conduct promptly, do not send money, and contact law enforcement when a crime or immediate threat may be involved. Utah: use available report and block controls, meet in public, and remember that identity or social-sign-in checks are not criminal background checks.

6. Colorado Safety Policy

Rishtio provides conspicuous report and block controls; accepts structured reports for fraud, threats, stalking, sexual misconduct, child safety, and intimate-image abuse; uses trained staff rather than automated systems for legal determinations; may suspend, ban, or remove content; records emergency actions and appeal or lift decisions; preserves restricted evidence when legally required; and provides status or appeal paths where available. When an account is banned for fraud, Rishtio identifies members who received and responded to that profile where records permit and queues a privacy-safe Account & Safety alert within 24 hours without identifying a complainant.

7. Intimate Image and Deepfake Removal

A person without a Rishtio account may submit a non-consensual intimate imagery or sexual-deepfake removal request. The form requires an attestation, contact information, and a content location or reference — not an upload. Our operational deadline is 48 hours, with private status and appeal access. Do not use that form for suspected child sexual abuse material.

8. Verification Is Not a Safety Guarantee

Photo, identity, and liveness verification are disabled for the free United States launch. If those checks are enabled later, they will remain limited signals and will not establish character, criminal history, or personal safety. Social sign-in likewise confirms only a provider sign-in relationship.
