Terms of Service

By accessing or using Rishtio ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Rishtio.

You must be at least 18 years of age to use Rishtio. The current launch is available nationwide in the United States. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old, legally capable of entering into a binding agreement, located where use of the Service is lawful, and using the Service solely for the purpose of seeking a matrimonial match for yourself or for a family member with their knowledge and consent. The Service is not available to individuals who have been previously suspended or removed from Rishtio.

To use Rishtio, you must create an account and accept the current account agreement covering these Terms, the Privacy Notice, required identity-document processing, essential AI-powered processing, first-party product analytics, necessary operational telemetry, and mandatory automated safety checks on ordinary profile photos. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information, maintain your information and credentials, accept responsibility for account activity, and notify us of unauthorized use. A family member or helper may prepare a private managed-profile draft only with the subject's knowledge. The draft remains outside discovery, matching, public sharing, chat, normal member notifications, and Relationship Manager until the subject authenticates, accepts the current account agreement and managed-profile authority disclosure, scopes helper access, and chooses publication. The subject must add the profile's first photo. After that, a helper with Full Access may manage ordinary profile photos. The subject may reject or unpublish the profile and narrow or revoke helper access. A helper cannot accept the account agreement, complete identity, Face, or liveness verification, or control authentication for the subject.

You agree not to use Rishtio to: • Provide false, misleading, or fraudulent profile information. • Harass, abuse, threaten, or intimidate other users. • Upload content that is obscene, defamatory, or infringes on intellectual property rights. • Solicit money or financial information from other users. • Use the Service for commercial purposes, advertising, or solicitation. • Create multiple accounts or impersonate another person. • Attempt to circumvent our verification or security systems. • Use automated scripts, bots, or crawlers to access the Service. • Engage in any activity that violates applicable laws or regulations. Violation of these terms may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account.

You retain ownership of all content you submit to Rishtio (photos, text, documents). By submitting content, you grant Rishtio a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute your content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Service. This license terminates when you delete your content or account, except for content shared with other users (e.g., chat messages) or required for legal compliance. You represent that you own or have the right to use all content you submit and that your content does not infringe on any third-party rights.

Rishtio is an AI-powered service. Essential features include profile and preference embeddings, multilingual profile summaries, profile search suggestions, exact-text narrative review, natural-language search extraction and naming, semantic scoring used by Rishtio Select, and mandatory automated safety checks on ordinary profile photos. These systems may produce inaccurate, incomplete, biased, or offensive results and do not guarantee compatibility or relationship outcomes. Users and families remain responsible for profile content, search choices, contact decisions, and relationship decisions. Rishtio does not offer a separate non-AI product mode. Identity document verification is required before protected actions in the current production launch. The account agreement covers processing an allowed government identity document for this purpose. Processing begins only after the profile subject chooses and uploads a document; helpers cannot initiate or complete this step. Rishtio uses Azure Document Intelligence to read the fields needed for the configured check, compare them with profile details, and detect duplicate document-number reuse. Discovery, introductions, and match communication remain unavailable until approval, while settings, support, profile management, and legal pages remain available. An identity badge indicates only that the configured document check was completed at that time. Face verification remains unavailable. Verification is not a criminal-background, character, intent, truthfulness, compatibility, or safety guarantee. Exercise your own judgment with every profile.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, retain, and protect personal information, including essential AI-powered processing, automated safety checks on ordinary profile photos, and required identity-document verification. Optional profile fields may be left blank or deleted. Identity-document processing is covered by the account agreement and starts only when the profile subject chooses to upload a document. Face and liveness verification remain unavailable.

You may terminate your account through account settings. We may suspend or terminate an account for violations, harm, or legal requirements. Confirmed ordinary deletion immediately revokes access and sessions and removes the profile from use; required cleanup then runs asynchronously as described in the Privacy Policy. Limited pseudonymous safety and operational records may remain. Reviewed platform-ban provider/document HMAC aliases contain no raw provider subject or document number and may remain for up to 1,825 days; extension requires a new staff-reviewed renewal. Blocker-owned directional pair-block aliases remain until unblock or blocker deletion. Reports are stripped of free text and direct profile links and grouped only by a random token. Unresolved reports remain until resolution and any appeal are final; ordinary resolved evidence is retained for 365 days, while evidence supporting a platform ban follows that ban's reviewed cap and configured post-ban grace. Active CyberTip, 18 U.S.C. Section 2703(f), and litigation holds override deletion until explicitly released. Ordinary deletion otherwise permits a new account; an effective ban or pair block may be reapplied.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rishtio and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the Service, interactions with users, unauthorized access, user content, interruption, or AI-generated output. The United States launch is free and does not require a subscription or purchase. Any limitation applies only to the extent enforceable under applicable law.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Rishtio and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, your content, or your violation of any third-party rights.

These Terms are governed by applicable United States federal law and, to the extent not preempted, applicable state law, without depriving you of non-waivable consumer protections in your state of residence. Before filing a claim, you and Rishtio agree to make a good-faith attempt to resolve the dispute informally by written notice. If the dispute is not resolved, either party may bring a claim in a court of competent jurisdiction, including an eligible small-claims court. These Terms do not require arbitration or waive a right to a jury trial or class proceeding unless you separately agree to a legally valid dispute-resolution agreement.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of significant changes through the app or via email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of Rishtio after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms. If you do not agree with the changes, you must stop using the Service.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect. The invalid provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable.
